Who you are, and what you do...

Does your web site truly attract and hold customers? If someone is looking for your company today will you greet them when they find your web site?

Testimonial videos are an effective way to deliver positive information to the potential customer.

When visitors come to your web site you should present to them who you are, and what you do. Text and photos are good for showing them the services and products you offer, but it does little to tell them who you are. This is why more businesses are using video to capture their viewers attention and tell them more about their company.

In today's economy consumers don't just want stuff, they want to trust and know who they are buying from. Be it a service, a product, or your advice. They want to know you, and if what you provide will help them. Major corporations have video all over their site. Every viewer is going to click that play button to see what the video is about. In the first 15 seconds they will know if they are interested.

When we produce a testimonial web video at JML Multimedia we focus on three things:

• Who you are and what you do.

• How your product or service will help the visitor.
• Who has benefited from your products and services?

For example, introductions are in order. Tell them who you are and your specialty. Next, show your product or explain your service. Keep in mind that people do not buy things, they buy benefits. How will your product or service benefit them? And to show you are sincere, provide them with real people who have received a benefit from the use of, or application of your service.

This simple formula will guarantee you an effective way of promoting yourself and your company.

How you present yourself is very important. Sure you can stand against a wall and talk to a camera but keep in mind you want a professional video, not a mug shot. You want the video to convey your knowledge and professionalism. So it should have attractive lighting and shot in high resolution. You also want quality sound. Yes your camcorder has a microphone, but if the camera is several feet away from you, you will sound distanced from your viewer.

Several elements go into making a video that will attract viewers and encourage them to explore your company further. Far too many to write in a blog. But you get the idea, you want the viewer to watch the whole video, not click away and go to another site. You also want them to react to the video and desir
e to know more about you.

Effective advertising is giving the viewer information they can use and how it will benefit them.

Consumers choose a company based on their perception of the company. You may have an absolutely wonderful widget but if the consumer is not convinced it will help them, your widget will be lost among all the other widgets available. The same goes for your service or knowledge.

You have to present yourself to the potential customer and what you can do to assist them, then show them the product or results of your help. You are teaching them to understand that what you do is beneficial and helpful to them, and you sincerely want to provide this benefit.

In essence you really are not selling them anything, you are providing information and showing them how this information is useful and productive. How you do this is the key.

How your present yourself, your company, and your service will determine your success!
